This is about the kids and the friendships. Three roles, one standard — respect the game, the umpires, and each other.

We look at a few factors. First is sign-up time — we like folks who sign up early. Then we look at pitchers and catchers; we had to move quite a few kids around because some teams just simply didn't have enough catchers and/or pitchers. Then we also look at competitive balance. Lastly, we try to keep kids at certain schools together so one kid isn't a floater. It's not a perfect science, and we do our best.
We hired a professional scheduler and due to the size of this tournament, went the completely random route. Also, we personally know quite a few players and teams, so we wanted to disconnect ourselves from that so we didn't give any bias.
MSM DFW West uses a tiered bracket format modeled after the same structure you see at major events like Perfect Game and Triple Crown Sports.
Every team is guaranteed multiple games. Pool play determines seeding, and from there teams advance into Gold, Silver, or Bronze championship brackets based on how they finish. Every bracket has something real to play for.
No team is playing out the string. Every game means something.
Most teams wear their travel ball hats, others wear their high school hat, and some even wear costume hats. In the fall one kid played in a cowboy hat. Have fun with it.
Please be early. If we can start games early, we will.
